COEI’s core function is running the incubation program in which students who have established their proof of concept are admitted to COEI. These students are given all facilities such as working space, access to investors, seed funding (for winners of COEI’s B-plan contest), functional training and personalized handholding by Business Counsellors of COEI. The incubation period is of 1 year and subject to extension based on the performance of the incubatees.
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
COEI team has developed a customized training and development program for its incubatees which trains them about functional aspects of business accessories such as market research, costing models, articulation of busines sides and IT. A team of industry and subject experts conduct these sessions.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
COEI team conducts Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) in 2 stages basic and advanced for a niche crowd of persons; some students, some incubatees and some working professionals all in the age group of 20 to 30 years of age. These training workshops are of a duration of 3 days and 6 days respectively and aim at acquainting participants with core aspects of entrepreneurship. All sessions are conducted by reputed industry and subject experts.
PRE- INCUBATION PROGRAM
Pre-incubation program is designed for students who are in the idea stage. These are customized sessions where students are given all training required to develop their business idea to the proof of concept stage. The pre-incubatees also receive handholding from industry experts and one to one mentoring for focused development of their idea. The program is crafted in such a way that at the end of the period, participants have good knowledge and applicable modules to develop their own business plans and explore the option of entrepreneurship.
Wings2Vision is COEI’s flagship program. It is a training-based business plan competition. Participants are usually undergraduate and post graduate students from Mumbai region. They are given basic training for development of their business ideas and get the opportunity to present their ideas to panel of industry experts in 2 to 3 stages. The top three winning teams are given prize money of Rs. 1 lakh, 75 thousand and 50 thousand respectively in staggered fashion.
COEI conducts a Start-up Expo in which business model canvases of promising teams are presented to a wide audience. This gives participants an opportunity to interact with people from all walks of life and to test their idea with a wider audience. The expo also acts as a motivator to their fellows on campus.
COEI team conducts many out-reach programs, trained entrepreneurship educators conduct ideation and design thinking workshops for students of various colleges. We also conduct sessions for faculty persons of various colleges regarding how to develop business incubators and an entrepreneurial culture in higher educational campuses.
